Jackie graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of St. Augustine in 2011. She started the path to physical therapy at Appalachian State University where she earned her major in Athletic Training and minor in Exercise Science. During her time at App State she was a head student athletic trainer for the football team at the beginning of their 3-year national champion-winning streak. After graduation from her undergraduate studies she moved to Washington, DC to become a personal trainer for a health and conditioning club where she found an interest for living and promoting a holistic and well-balanced lifestyle.
As a physical therapist, Dr. Richards has a passion for biomechanical analysis, especially relating to running, yoga, and various recreational activities. She enjoys helping motivated people meet their personal or functional goals. She has a strong manual therapy and muscle energy background, which she applies to her treatment. Her motto is for her patients to “become their own PT” as she aspires to help people better understand and listen to their body in order to live a more pain free life and get back to activities they enjoy. She earned her 200 hour yoga certification at Holy Cow Yoga Studio in Charleston, SC in order to help her patients and anyone seeking wellness to learn to connect their body and mind.
In late 2016 Dr. Richards and her newly wed husband, Nate Richards, moved to Chestertown. During their free time they enjoy various outdoor activities such as hiking, wakeboarding, mountain and road biking, and snowboarding. Jackie and Nate love to take their dog, Nusa, on adventures with them. Dr. Richards also has a passion for running, soccer, and yoga, which she makes part of her weekly routine.
